I Did It! (Includes a Review of Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones)

This is the first Saturday in a long time that I've actually taken the time to do some exercising - Yay, me!  I very nearly didn't, but I didn't want to disappoint myself again.  So I did my new Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones DVD.  (The 30 Day Shred DVD hasn't arrived yet.) I really wasn't sure what to expect, except that it would kick my butt.

I have to admit, I don't watch Biggest Loser, although I have seen enough episodes and commercials to know who Jillian is.  My impression of her (as a non-watcher, remember) is that she's a hard woman who doesn't have much sympathy for others.  The only reason I bought this DVD is because it came at such a good price when I ordered it with 30 Day Shred and 6 Week Six-Pack, and I was mainly interested in 30 Day Shred because of all the great reviews of it I'd been reading.

It's a really good workout!  The moves are clearly demonstrated, and except for the warm-up at the beginning, it's a pretty low-impact, although there are a lot of squat variations, which might be hard on problem knees.  I did have to pause to rest several times during the workout, and even when I get to the point where I can keep going throughout the whole thing, I will STILL have a ways to go before I could consider the thing "easy."  (Yeah, I don't really think that will ever happen, either...)

And Jillian is a good instructor!  She's down-to-earth, and will say things like "I don't like this exercise, but I love the results, so I do it anyway," which is refreshing.  In this DVD, she seems a lot more down-to-earth and approachable than I expected her to be - I thought she'd be more of a Drill-Sargent than she was.

I'm sure I'll be feeling it tomorrow -- which is a good thing!  :D

The Scale - It Mocks Me!

0.5 pound loss.  Half.  A.  Pound.

Really?!

*Sigh...*

Yes, it's a loss.  And yes, I'm very happy that I had a loss instead of a gain, or even just maintaining.  But being SO CLOSE to reaching two goals, one of which was only one pound away!  That's just frustrating!

And I had a meeting I needed to go in to work early for, so I didn't have the time to measure myself.  It's possible that Aunt Flo is considering a visit soon -- she likes to do the unexpected visit thing...  :P  We'll see what happens next week.

Have a good one, everyone!

I'm So Ready for the Weekend...!

I know there's a whole Friday to get through before we get there, but I'm SO ready!!!

Pretty good day today -- 1089 calories and 136 oz. liquid (in addition to my coffee) and about an hour and 40 minutes worth of dancing.  (There are two 1 hour classes back to back, and I try not to count the time I spend talking...)

I'm not sure how my weigh in will go tomorrow - I think I want to reach my Goals too badly...  I had a loss last week, and while I've done pretty well this week with my eating and fluids, I might not see a good result.  And I have to go in to work early tomorrow morning, so I won't have the time to take my measurements.   So in the interest of not getting my hopes up, I will (try to) not pin my hopes to That Number on the scale, and focus instead on the fact that my pants are feeling looser.  (Yay!)

G'night, all!

Happy Wednesday!

Long day...  I was trying to get home with enough time to get on the Elliptical, or put in an exercise DVD, but I didn't get home early enough for that.  Ah well.  This will give me a chance to get to bed earlier tonight...

I took in 1294 calories and 120 oz water.  I tried these for the first time tonight -- I've heard about them for a while, and finally decided to give them shot:

Shirataki Noodles

The nutrition information is for half a package, but they're only 40 calories for the whole thing!   I just mixed in some  Low Sodium Chicken Bouillon with some Parmesan Cheese - nothing special - and it wasn't bad!  It was a little more firm than I usually like my spaghetti, but that might just be because I've never cooked them before...  :}  Of course it won't beat real spaghetti, but it makes for a decent substitute!

Happy Tuesday!

Good day today!  Took in 1266 calories, and 104 oz. water, in addition to my usual coffee, and danced for about an hour and 40 minutes during the two dance classes tonight.  Yes, The Bebeh from last week was there (SO cute!), but I focused more on dancing this time - I wanted to give the other ladies there a chance to be doting Aunties, too...!   :D

Now, this is the only time I will mention this before my Friday weigh-in, because I really don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed if the scale doesn't meet them.  I'm only two pounds away from my first short-term goal, and one away from 10 total gone!

Okay, I'm up way too late yet again, and I need to get to bed.  G'night, all!

Yep, It's a Monday!

I think I'm going to have to start taking my vitamins with food, instead of just the water I have been -- my stomach is not happy with me right now.  Of course, it could be that I've started adding calcium back in to the mix.  Ugh.

1320 calories today, and 80 oz. water.  Decent on the water, but not as much a I would've liked.  And we actually danced at rehearsal tonight!  :D  Felt good to be moving with the group again.

So after seeing several people in the blogosphere using this as a part of their workout routines and giving it good reviews, and remembering that I got a $50 gift card for Christmas, I placed an order for Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred, as well as her No More Trouble Zones  and 6 Week Six-Pack DVDs.  (Amazon has them at a really good price right now - all three for $25.97!)  Especially after reading the good reviews from several sources, I'm really looking forward to receiving these DVDs, and giving them a try!  (Of course that means I'll have to clear out my "exercise" room...)

I'd better sign off and go get some sleep -- G'night, all!
