Friday Weigh-In!

I'm down by 1.5 pounds - yay, me!!!  That puts me 1 pound away from 10 gone, and 2 pounds away from finally saying goodbye to the 230s!  (Actually I probably have already lost 10 or more pounds total, but I've got to be true to where I officially started tracking....)

Decent day today, especially for a Friday...  My Honey and I went out to lunch at Red Lobster -- their Wood-Fire Grilled Entrees are really good, and if you substitute extra veggies for the starch, it's pretty healthy and low cal!

Tomorrow will be a challenge-- I'm going to need all sorts of willpower.  We're going to be playing Dungeons and Dragons all afternoon with great friends (okay, Pathfinder -- Yes, I'm a geek, and damn proud of it, too!) and that more often than not involves a whole bunch of junk food, not to mention dinner.  I'll probably do okay with dinner, which will probably be Chinese, but all the snackies that will be available will be a tremendous temptation - they always are.  It's way too easy for my hand to go to my mouth on autopilot at these things, just out of habit..

Here's my plan for tomorrow:  I will get out and do some exercising for at least 45 minutes before we go over there.  And I will get some gum to have on hand just in case I feel like I really want to be chewing on something, and I'll be sure to get in all my water.  And I'll be very conscious of my portions at dinner, and if it doesn't taste good, I give myself permission to NOT eat it, even if it's on my plate.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  Stay strong!  ;)

  1. YAY! A fellow gamer-girl!! :) I'm so happy! *squee*

Thank you for the encouraging comment on my last blog post. I'm gonna give it all I have at dinner tonight. :)

My gaming group meets on Monday nights (day before my WW weigh-ins), so I understand the temptations that can come from having bunches of food everywhere you turn. Last year, the guys were cool enough to start bringing fruit and veggie trays to game instead of chips and candy (Their choice, not mine). Then the pizza went away and was replaced by some kind of main meal dish (different every week)(Again, their choice). We went from mindlessly snacking for 5hrs to having a healthier dinner with a portioned dessert (usually ice cream cones) which I set aside plenty of points for. Turns out the guys preferred the healthier options and the whole "dinner" idea, so we've kept this up even when one game ended (D20 Future) and the next one began (D&D 3.5, GM-created world).

Try bringing your own fruit & veggie trays to game next time. You can bring a container of fattier dip for those that want some. Or maybe a healthy main dish, so no one will want to order out. You never know what may happen. :) It can be done!

Good luck with the munchies (You can do it!) and have fun storming the castle!

  2. OOOH!! A geek, game-playing belly-dancer! Awesome! So glad you stopped by my blog! You do what I aspire to! Semi-geek that I am, I play online games, am married to programmer geek, have belly-dancing on my list of things to do, and want to play D&D in the worst way (except parenting has interfered for the last 20 yrs). Thanks for the encouragement. I'll be stopping by...thx for visiting my blog.

  3. Congrats on the loss!!! I think going in with your plan is the best way to get through it! Enjoy the time, but make choices you won't regret the next day! I'm also one of those mindless-snackers when I get caught up in doing something, have to be so careful!
